Adoption Overview $1,500

Sylt

Sylt is a sweet 17 yr old red roan mare. Sylt is calm and has an easy going temperment, especially when she is around someone she knows and trusts. She is good with new people who are calm and kind. Sylt is easy to catch in a paddock with other horses. Sylt has never had a problem with another horse and keeps to herself. While she does enjoy treats as positive reinforcement, she is not particularly food motivated. Sylt is learning to gain confidence in herself and learning what her handler wants from her. She can be hard tied, will stand during grooming and bathing, and has been getting more confident with her feet being handled. She has been lunged, long lined and free lunged in the round pen and does all well and respectfully. She has been ridden both english, western and bareback and enjoys it all. Though she is still green, she is more whoa than go, and has never misbehaved under sadde. She is solid under saddle, loves riding outside and would make a great comapnion, trail riding partneror therapy horse!

Sylt is part of the CSU Right Horse Program, where she has worked with students for the last few months. She is available for adoption through Harmony Equine Center. Please contact Hannah at hshutts@ddfl.org
