The Jig Is Up

4 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Blame (Arch) out of Daring Dancer by Empire Maker
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16.1 hands. He last raced on 1/5/25 and was retired. We are not aware of any injuries. He does have a big left hind fetlock that is most likely arthritis.

He was castrated on 2/6/25.

Jig is settling in well to farm life and seems to enjoy the laid back lifestyle of retirement. He is well behaved, but he can be playfully mouthy. We expect that to improve with castration. Jig stands well for grooming, and he does have good ground manners. He is quiet in his stall and doesn’t bother his neighbors. He hasn’t shown us any vices and is a nice horse to have in the barn.

Jig was well behaved for the vet and farrier.

He should be suitable for any discipline. We do recommend a PPE for athletic use.
