Adoption Overview $950

Appraisal

6 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Paynter (Awesome Again) out of I Have A Price by Succesful Appeal
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16 hands. He last raced on 12/8/24 and retired a winner! He is a worker with over $144,000 in earnings. We are not aware of an injury history. His legs look really good, and our vet didn’t notice any issues.

Appraisal has settled in well to farm life and is enjoying his let down. He was accepted quickly by our herd of geldings, and he seems to get along well with all of them. He doesn’t seem to be dominate or the low man. He did take about 3-4 days to settle before he started to eat all his grain. Otherwise, he has done very well adjusting to retirement.

Appraisal is a nice horse to work with and is respectful of his handlers, grooms and caretakers. He is quiet in his stall and doesn’t bother his neighbors. He settles down quickly to graze when turned out. He stood well for the vet and farrier.

He should be suitable for any discipline.
