Adoption Overview $1,000

No Salt

No Salt is an easy going, loveable 2017 bay gelding standing at 16.1 who is ready to learn a new low level career.

(This horse is eligible to receive a $405+ scholarship for the 2025 Thoroughbred Makeover through the 2025 ASPCA Right Horse Scholarship program. Please visit therrp.org/makeover-scholarship-program for more information.)

All reasonable offers considered for approved adopters.

On the ground  Salty is a very good boy. He’s great for the vet and farrier-stands in the crossties for his shoes and doesn’t need to be held. Also good for grooming and tacking up.

In the pasture/stable  Salty is currently turned out with 2 school horses.  Salty like to play halter tag with his pasture mates. He is still learning how to interact with horses in turnout. He is currently stabled at night where he has shown no vices.

Under saddle  Salty is currently doing walk/trot comfortably.  He is quiet under saddle but is still green. Salty had a long, successful career on the racetrack and was retired from racing when he exhibited some breathing issues after his last race. He has been cleared for light pleasure riding. He would do well with a life in natural horsemanship or enjoying a leisurely trail ride, as he is a smart, personable and otherwise healthy gelding.

Background and care  Salty is currently wearing front shoes. He doesn’t have any special dietary needs and is UTD on vaccines, worming and teeth.

Any medical records and pertinent history are available to interested and approved adopters. CANTER Michigan always recommends a PPE.
