Adoption Overview $5,500

Tango (Imdabestintheworld)

Tango (Imdabestintheworld) is a 5yo OTTB Gelding born out of Exaggerator, the 2016 Preakness winner and runner up at the Kentucky Detby that same year.

But Tango takes after his look alike granddaddy Curlin, who was the American Horse of the Year in 2007 AND 2008.  When Curlin retired in 2008 he was the highest money earning horse with a slew of major wins.

But with all this racing in his blood - Tango had more interest in the flowers and butterflies than he did racing.  Only having 5 starts at Gulfstream it didn't take long for his trainer to see he wasn't born to race.  So his owner wanted better for him.

We saw quickly that Tango inherited his playfulness from his famous fathers.   As a colt Exaggerator was known to play ball with passers-by often throwing the ball over the fence so they could play catch.  Tango prefers the water trough as his playing field and will spend hours soaking you with the hose.

While Tango is a complete goofball, his first trip around the pasture proved to us he has the moves fit for a Dressage champion.  But he needed more time to just grow and be a horse.  But he's ready now for his next challenge and his next forever home.

Tango is expressive and playful, standing at 16.2h at just 5 years old – so he’s not quite done growing.  He has the potential to be a Grand Prix Dressage Horse.  Or even a mid-level Eventing or Hunter/Jumper. His abilities are endless as he has a great mind and an absolute love for water!!  There is no other place this horse would rather be than IN the water trough.

Tango has had 30 days of professional natural horsemanship training so his ground manners are solid.  He has been restarted under saddle and showing signs of being an extremely versatile mount.  And he enjoys endlessl rides out on the trails (usually always in the lead)!!!  A true winner
