Adoption Overview $600

Ezekiel

Ezekiel was born a feral free roaming horse approximately in June of 2023. He was not thriving on the reclaimed mine site in the Appalachian mountains, so a local Animal Control Officer authorized his capture and journey to KHS for stray hold. He was emaciated, struggling with parasites and weak upon arrival. Since then he has been carefully refed and is up to a much healthier weight now. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, castrated (after he gained weight) and is now just playing catchup with all of his young friends.

Ezekiel seems to be a curious guy and should go far with time to grow and continued training to develop him into a good citizen.Currently he is good to catch, lead, load, groom, and can stand for the farrier.  He has been lightly started on groundwork (we don't do much circle-work with youngsters and their growing joints) and seems like he will be a rewarding guy to invest your time in as a future riding horse.

He's currently being fostered at Boys & Girls' Haven where he is helping provide equine therapy to disadvantaged and at-risk foster children and we are told he's a star! At this time, it would be best if he went to a home with some training experience or experience handling and raising young horses, OR to an adopter who will readily seek, follow, and utilize frequent help from a competent trainer to stay on track with good behavior.
